My visa expires January 14th of 2017(Saturday) I'm going in tomorrow 6:30am to get a spot in line. I'm a little worried that I've missed some required time period or an apply before this particular date type of thing. I know I have to wait till after 60 days pass from the time the 90days starts, and I've been trying to get it done for over 3 weeks now,but it's like pulling teeth with my co-workers who have been given this task to prepare all the documents. Am I worried for no reason? What if we are missing a document,and have to come back? Also,do they keep your passport and make you come back another day to pick it up,or do they stamp it right then?

 

I need to get a multiple re-entry permit at the same time too. Can these too things happen in the same day,in the same que? Oh God......

The extension of stay for the reason of employment is usually for a period of one year.

Whether you can get the re-entry permit in the same queue depends on the immigration office where you are applying.

As this is his first extension, it will probably only be for 9 months, (until his current contract runs out).

How do you know when his contract runs out?

OK guys,I pretty much got screwed. My company ,for one,wasn't paying me the minimum amount(50k,I knew this obviously) we didn't figure they would look at bank deposit statements(duh) and using the list of  needed documents I got from another thread of mine,we were short some documents too. My coworker spoke to the officer in Thai ,so all I know for sure is I have to go back to laos and start over with another 90 day non b visa.....This really sucks. I want to know if this will affect my work permit? It's good till October of 2017. The immigration officer was the one who mentioned the wrong salary amount,but wouldn't that just matter for the work permit? I'm pretty much lost,and there's really no good information online. There is no minimum salary to get a work permit. The minimum salary is only to to apply for an extension of stay based upon working.

You could get a multiple entry non-b visa in Penang with the same paperwork need for a single entry in Vientiane since you have a work permit that is valid for more than 8 months. No minimum salary is needed for it.

Now my staff says I only need a tourist visa then they can apply for the non b here in Bangkok.

 

So who has the cheapest visa? I know Laos is 1600.....

I just read an article stating Malaysia has free visa upon arrival. So can I just fly in stay the night,then fly out? Do I even have to stay overnight?

You don't have to stay overnight if all you want to get is a 30 day visa exempt entry.

To apply for the non-b in Bangkok you will need all the same documents plus a few more than what is required for the extension.

So I could literally fly there and then book a flight back the same day just to obtain the 30 day tourist visa stamp?

Yes

But you would get a 30 day visa exempt entry not a tourist visa.

A tourist visa is a visa issued at an embassy or consulate that allows a 60 day entry.

Will I have a problem turning that into a non b at immigration? I already have a work permit good till October.

Technically your work permit would be invalid since you will not have a non immigrant visa entry that is required to have a work permit, You could have a problem at immigration applying for the visa,

The officer said my wp will be fine......I hope it's not one of those subjective things.
