TOT to complete Village Internet program this year

BANGKOK, 12 January 2017 (NNT) – TOT Pcl has expedited its work under a civil-state program in which it will provide up to 25,000 villages nationwide with Internet access, with an aim to complete the work within this year.

Senior President of TOT Pcl Monchai Noosong revealed that the company will be focusing its efforts on completing its “Village Internet” civil-state program this year, which is aimed at providing Internet access to 25,000 villages to remedy social inequality. He said the company is confident it can satisfy a government order to complete the task this year if not impeded by natural occurrences such as flooding or forest fires.

Monchai remarked that the project is a major mission for TOT as it wishes to build confidence in its operations as well as contribute to the elevation of the nation’s communities, which it believes in turn, will create more opportunities for investment.

He let on the undertaking is currently in the equipment acquisition phase, which is being conducted using an auctioning system. The company must also employ contractors to ensure meet its deadline. It has affirmed total transparency for the 13 billion baht program.

Wow!!!!....I didn't know simple internet access could remedy social inequality.   I'm going to forward this NBT news report to the UN and all the governments of the world....they will then know how to solve social inequality.

Maybe that is why TOT has failed to answer my enquiry about Direct Debits~!!!!!

I assume this will not have free access as a part of the program, I wonder if they will offer a basic fee?

Selfies for everyone! Equality!

You must admit it is one good thing to help the not so fortunate.its a pity they didn't come up with more sensible plans like this one....mind you there will only be one person with a router and everyone in the villid sat around their house sharing it.

I am really hoping that for once someone isn't just making stuff up and they actually plan to do it.
