January 16, 20179 yr Hi. I am looking to buy the highest quality beef, sirloin, lamb chops, where should i go? price isn't an issue. Thanks!
January 16, 20179 yr Try Nippon Kai Market soi 53 for beef and pork, and when they tell you the price do not be surprised if it sounds like a telephone number
January 16, 20179 yr What I thought you said you wanted the highest quality, ? ..............make up your mind. Seriously it is Japanese and ask for A5 grade

January 16, 20179 yr I've been reasonably happy with Foodland Ratchada. Strip steak cut thickish. Pork loin. Ground sirloin. Seems better than Tops, same price. El Gaucho.
January 16, 20179 yr The supermarkets in the top malls have KOBE beef (10.000 a kg....), i still want to try it.
January 17, 20179 yr Villa mart if its in Bangkok, excellent aussie beef of different grades and prices including the very expensive Japanese beef which comes from Tasmania
January 17, 20179 yr I get my beef and lamb from this place ,both excellent in quality and price . http://companyb.co.th/

Company B Co.,Ltd. 18 Kanchanapisek Road Sapansung Bangkok 10240 I know kanchanaphisek but it's a huge road...do you know where the shop is near?
January 17, 20179 yr There are outlets at the mall ramkhamhaeng ,central world and they do deliveries as well. They have a facebook page as well you can check out . https://www.facebook.com/CompanyB.Thailand/
January 17, 20179 yr Foodland is good....but be sure to get the meat with the "Prime Feed" sticker on it as it much better/more tender than their regular meat (no Prime Feed sticker). Don't know where the Prime Feed sticker meat comes from...probably Thailand but from cattle which is fed good cattle feed/grains vs primarily grass. Foodland is pretty much were we get all our meat.
January 17, 20179 yr yeah go for the Japanese one at Nippon kai. suddenly price will become an issue.

I remember the "pen fed" sticker in foodland. Also they have aussie beef, tried it once but was not so impressed. I never had tender beef in Foodland and they also can't speak a word english. So i stopped buying beef at all, only minced from the fridge so i don't have to speak to them.
January 17, 20179 yr You could always send them a message via facebook or they do have a "contact us" page on there website.

However we should keep in mind there are other types of beef where wagyu isn't appropriate. I would rate American beef or Scottish above Australian but as Australia is close it is considered the best. In Thailand it probably is. Edited January 17, 20179 yr by anotheruser

I never gave beef a second thought in Thailand since I figured most "affordable" beef is not going to be aged at all (dry or wet) and thus would only be good for things like stir fries.

Yeah, Foodland might not be EG but I ain't spending an hour/s chasing down dead cow every weekend for the wife. Let her suffer with Foodland NY Strip I say! Edited January 20, 20179 yr by ozmeldo

NZ beef is mostly grass fed and antibiotic free. Up to you.
February 3, 20179 yr Tops at Central Chidlom - talk to Simon the Australian butcher there. He will do special cuts on request and has a good selection of beef and lamb - mostly Australian I think. Good quality.
February 3, 20179 yr check this place out: http://www.passiondelivery.com/collections/accidental-butcher Also, the market at M-quartier mall has awesome wegu beef, aussie, yankee meats....good selection!

In Thailand it probably is. i grew up on the stuff but i don't rate American beef at all. corn-fed, flabby, hormone-drenched, antibiotic-ridden wretched animals for the most part. but hey it's nicely marbled. I haven't been impressed with the Australian beef at my local Villa Market. Didn't dislike it but wasn't value for money. i am not a huge fan of the flavor of corn fed beef in general and prefer a more gamey, strong flavor. therefore i like (and without reservations, recommend) the New Zealand pastured beef available at most (maybe all) Villa Markets in the frozen section.
