There are plenty of opportunities to invest in Thailand.

Software business is one of very good example for Government privilege to all of you.

 

Board of Investment has no time frame for promoting Software business ( Till year 2020 )

 

If you have strength in Embeded software ; Enterprise Software  and/or digital content.

So, Thailand is right place for your investment.

 

BOI catagory for

 

Embedded Software is 5.7.1 ( A1 privilege type : granted Corporate Tax exemption without cap for 8 years)

 

Enterprise software and/or digital content ( A3 privilege type : granted Corporate Tax exemption 5 years)

 

There are specification for Digital Content which investor can ask BOI for detail.

 

BOI conditions :

 

1) projects must have expenses for salaries for IT Personnel of at least 1.5 Million Baht per year.

 

2)project must included software development processes specified by the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA)

 

3) Project with an investment of 10 Million baht and more (excluding cost of land and Working Capital) must obtain

a quality standard certificate from SIPA or received a capability maturity model integration (CMMI) quality standard certificate

or any equivalent to, within 2 years from the full operation start-up date. If the project fails to meet such this condition, One-year

Corporate Tax Exemption will be withdrawn.

 

(So, investment amount can be less than 10 Million baht, but not less than condition for salary as above )

There is some minor details which you can discuss with BOI officer directly or anyone who can do for you.

Yes, some information about your project must be discussed with them.

If you register a company and employ 4 Thais you can do whatever you want to. 

That privilege is Tax privilege, anyhow as you are expat. So, after getting BOI project approval for your business.

 

You can apply to extend your visa for long ( one year first ; then every 2 years with Multiple Visa if you will always travel aboard). And you will get Working Permit too accordingly. 

 

Under condition that ( your first visa is NON-B type ).
