Nah, they just want her to stop highlighting their utter ineptitude and are hoping to bully her into silence.

Kind of says it all.

A columnist in today's BP wrote a piece lamenting Thailand's increasingly dysfunctional society, citing this case among others. This police action confirms it.

Clearly he hasn't spent any time in America

How long before the real hit-and-runner will:
1. Retract his confession.
2. Get kill'd in an accident.
3. Disaapear.

Place your bets now.

It's hard to believe that the police are still saying they did a good job.

A couple of quotes from the article...

Quote

A police officer recognized the culprit’s car plate number, but unfortunately, he remembered the number incorrectly, he recalled the one that belongs to Jomsap instead.

Quote

Working with the Legal Aid Center, police found the real hit-and-runner who confessed to the crime in court, and thus can prove that Jomsap is innocent. The new trial is scheduled on Jan. 16.

So (according to the article), the actual offender has been caught and admitted his crime, but the police are still determined to persecute the woman who they wrongly sent to prison.

Sickening.

There used to be a DC comic where everything was upside down and back to front- bizzaro world, fits the 'justice' system here, it really is insane.

Thai police can prove any thing they want. They will just make up what they need to prove the woman wrong and no one will be able to dispute it or they will get sued too.

Yes, just like they did the first time. Saving face is much more important than sending the innocent to jail.

Very dark shades of Koh Tao and other blunders.....

The cop to the right of the photo obviously knows the answer to this question

The boys in brown have thinner skin than trump.  Your the police - you cant sue criminals who have been convicted and send to jail!  (well in Thailand you probably can)

They'll get this lady back in jail now, by hook or crook. Too late, and too much face lost, to back down now.

Well, when its about "Face", it really does not matter what actually happened before.

The woman has made the police lose "Face" and right now that has to be fixed.

Just Thai-logic in play...
