LAGOS: -- A Nigerian warplane has mistakenly carried out an attack on a refugee camp killing up to 100 people.

The strike hit an area for displaced persons near Rann, in the north-east of the country.

The Red Cross say six aid workers have been killed and 120 people are being treated for their injuries.

General Lucky Irabor made the announcement:” Unfortunately, the strike was conducted, but it turned out that locals somewhere around were affected.

These are results of the fog of war. It’s unfortunate. That’s the reason why this war must come to an end”.

The carnage took place near the border with Cameroon where the Nigerian army is engaged in operations against Boko Haram.

Doctors Without Borders have staff on the ground and are preparing to move medical teams from Cameroon and Chad to assist the wounded.

The army say the aircraft attacked believing it was a Boko Haram enclave.

Those Nigerian should stick to what they know best, those 419 letters telling

you you're about to make millions of dollars if you only give them your email

address and your bank account number and leave the flying to people who

can tell the diffract between refugees and the enemy....
