January 18, 20179 yr I cannot find my previous post on this subject. Mods please move if appropriate. As I posted last week, the Royal Thai Consulate in Glasgow rejected my application for a Non-Imm O visa based marriage to a Thai citizen, deeming my Scottish Marriage Certificate with certified translation and document proving registration in Chiangmai, inadequate. Only a Thai Marriage Certificate would do. l telephoned the Royal Thai Embassy in London for advice and they instructed me to send the application direct to them. I did so on Friday last week. Today, Wed. @ 1020 Royal Mail retuned my passport containing the asked for visa. I have Emailed my thanks to the Royal Thai Embassy for their quick action and asked them to inform the Consolate in Glasgow of their" misinterpretation". I do not hold out much hpoe of the consulate changing. In the meantime, I would advise against approaching this consulate for any visa other than tourist. January 18, 20179 yr Please keep us updated on the final outcome. As I understand it, the location of the marriage does not matter. Just as long as you are married. And you prove it with a marriage certificate either in English or Thai.
January 18, 20179 yr I found your topic. Glad it worked out for you. Perhaps the embassy will let the consulate know that if does not have to be a Thai marriage certificate.
