I am going to renew my Danish passport, because i am almost out of pages.

I am currently on Non-ED Visa, and it will expire next month.

I'm planning to go to my Embassy and order a new Passport before my visa expire. It will take 3-4 weeks.

After that i will leave the country by air, and come back on 30 days visa exempt. I have 2 years of Non-ED before that, and no space in my old passport to get a tourist visa.

When i come back on Visa exempt i will go to pick up my new passport. The embassy will cancel my Old Passport (making holes in it).

Then i will leave the country by air with both Passports.

- Will they stamp my exit stamp in my old or new passport? Or both?

- Will any notes in the new passport be made? Like my old ED visas? Or only the last visa Exempt?
- Does anyone have a example what they will stamp in new/old passport?

I will return back to Thailand on a new visa exempt in my new passport, and after 30 days i will leave the country by air, and fly back to my home country.

Thanks

It would be best if you got your new passport before the leaving the country.

Some countries cancel the old passport in their records when an application for a new passport is done. The advice from them is that the old passport is no longer valid for international travel.

When you leave the country with the new passport they would transfer the entry stamp in the old passport to the new passport and stamp the departure stamp in it.

Getting a new passport only eliminates evidence of previous visas it will not erase your history in immigrations data base because they will link your old and new passport the first time you enter the country with the new one.

Would it be better to ask my Danish embassy to pick up the new passport in the Danish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore instead?

I don't think i can get my new passport before my visa expire. They say it takes 4 weeks. They will cancel my old passport when i pick up the new one.

You should ask them about traveling with your old passport after you apply. They may not cancel it in their records until you pickup your new passport.

Not sure they would allow you to pick it up in another country.

It says on their website, I can pick it up on any Danish Embassy abroad, for a extra fee (around 1500 baht).

If i do that. Does it means that Thailand immigration will not link with the old passport? Or will it be done once i enter Thailand again?

(I have nothing to hide, but just curious)

As soon as you enter the country immigration will link the new passport to the old one.

Then its easier to get the new passport from the Embassy in Bangkok.

They will not cancel the old one from further travel, unless its stolen/ lost. Not when i apply for a new one due to out of pages.

So now my plan is: Apply --> Trip to Singapore/Malaysia --> Back and pick up ---> Trip to Singapore/Malaysia to switch passport ---> Back to Thailand for 30 days ---> Back to my home country.

You don't have to leave the country to switch passports.  You can get that done at an immigration office.  No charge for that service.
