Looking around the forum but got confused. I have a retirement visa and l am going to live in Thailand. Recently I accepted a sales job for a Hongkong Company. I have to travel Asia a lot . I do want to pay tax over my income as I don't fancy Thai prisons. Some are advising me to start a company and invoice the HK company . Is there an easy way to work legal and pay tax in Thailand however I earn the money out of Thailand ?

If all your work is done outside Thailand you will not have a problem.

You could still report and claim any income your bring into Thailand and pay taxes on it if you wanted to.

Right, there are no restrictions on work you do while outside Thailand. Any income you make that is brought into Thailand in the year it is earned is subject to Thai tax. Most people avoid tax, in this situation, by leaving the earned income outside Thailand until it is past the 12-month seasoning period. However, bringing it in immediately, declaring it, and paying the tax, should be easy enough.
