First round of talks on reconciliation to take place in February

 

BANGKOK, 23 January 2017 (NNT) – The Deputy Chairman of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has let on the body will soon invite 6-7 representatives for a first round of reconciliation discussions in February, assuring the talks will not touch on amnesty.

Second NLA Deputy Chairman Peerasak Porjit has made known framework for national reconciliation has made progress and that the reconciliation body headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has resolved to achieve the goal as soon as possible so that it will not interfere with other aspects of government work. 

In February, preliminary talks are to be held with representatives of 6-7 different factions to find common ground for work. According to Peerasak the talks may lead to changes in law by using Article 44 of the interim charter but will not extend to the matter of political amnesty.
