PATTAYA: -- Concerned members of the public in Pattaya made a citizen's arrest on Tuesday after they saw a man taking money from a bag.

They held onto Mohammad Yasid Kerep, 52, before the local police arrived on the scene.

Guy Botterburg, a 52 year old Belgian was one of the witnesses who claimed to have seen the Iranian man removing money from a fellow passenger's bag, reports Daily News.

The incident happened near the market on Soi Bua Khaw in South Pattaya.

Juti Mathukarn, 37, said he was riding his motorcycle behind the baht bus when he saw the Iranian man reach into a bag. The man then rang to bell to get off.Juti alerted the driver then everyone helped detain the man.

The Iranian denied he had done anything wrong. They all went to the police station to sort it out yesterday afternoon.
