grtaylor
Which browser and version are you both using ?totster Out of preference I use Maxthon, a tabbed browser which uses IE as its back end. Version 1.5.9 (build 30). I have IE 7 (which was the one which worked) version 7.0.5700.6 I'm not convinced this is the source of the problem. As far as I know, Maxthon uses the same set of cookies as IE, its just the display which is different, and better G Edited December 13, 2006 by grtaylor
Tywais
Try one more thing. Under 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' > 'General' > 'Settings' > 'View Objects' you will see the version of Java Runtime. Mine is 1.5.0. I just tried using IE for the first time with TV and cleared Cookies, Temp Files, logged in, logged out, and next time I connected it auto-logged me in. Also check Might download and re-install the JRE and see if that helps > Java Download Also check under 'Internet Options' 'Security' and 'Privacy' and be sure they are set no higher then Medium. One last thing, is under 'Internet Options' > 'Privacy' > 'Advanced' see if the 'Override automatic cookie handling' is checked or not. And one more thing, again under 'Privacy' click on 'Sites' and enter "http://www.thaivisa.com/" in the Address of web site box and click "Allow". These are the only things I can think of that are browser specific that could cause the problem.

wpcoe
I, too, need to log-on *almost* every time I access the board now, whereas before I wouldn't need to type the username/password for months at a time. *Sometimes* when I access a forum I don't need to log on but about 90% of the time I do. I am using Opera 9 (and won't be changing my browser any time soon just to humor ThaiVisa) and have cleared all my internet cache, my Opera browser cache, my temp files and cookies. The "remember me" check box is always pre-checked. Lots of reboots, too. And, just now I needed to log on. The frustrating thing is that sometimes I don't realize I'm not logged on until I'm reading my third or fourth forum, then have to log-on, go back to the already-read forums to mark them as read. How come, when logged on as "guest", threads are showing as having unread messages. Shouldn't they ALL be shown as having unread messages or NONE of them? It would be easier to notice I were logged on as guest if that were the case.
kayo
I must say, I wondering why there were so many "guests" everywhere. I was finding it unusual.
grtaylor
Just left my (logged in) computer open on a topic, and went off to lunch. 40 minutes later when I came back, and clicked to go back to the main menu page, it said I was a "guest" again . . . . . george
This command is according to Invision support the best way to deal with this annoyance: Click here to delete the Thaivisa Forum cookie and replace it with the new type of stronghold cookie: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?ac...gin&CODE=06 After that, login again and be sure that "save password" is ticked at login. Hope that can be a help to at least some of you guys.
grtaylor
This is truly weird - I've been in TV all morning, and had to login quite a few times, and the last time I did it, I got the following on the screen: Welcome back; your last visit was: Yesterday, 2006-12-13 21:59:53 I wish someone could figure out what is going on wiith this forum. Oh, and I just deleted all cookies with reference to ThaiVisa, and then opened IE, and this time it let me with NO cookie. Logged out, logged in, exited, and now I don't have a cookie at all. . . . . Welcome to the Twilight Zone. G

Also, under Privacy, click on Settings and be sure it is not set to "Clear private data when exiting Firefox" or at least the checkbox for Cookies under settings should not be enabled. //edit - just realized you said IE and not firefox. Will look up the options for IE and get back.
farangsay
I have found more than just the problem of having to log in every time. I have just been logged out twice while browsing the forum. This time I know it was not me because the second time I downloaded the page which said both "welcome guest" and "posts since your last visit". Yours Dazed and confused of Bang Na PS 1) I was just logged out AGAIN. 2) It took me 3 attempts to log back in again. farangsay
To whoever is supposed to deal with posts in this section : Your silence on this topic is a ######ing disgrace. There is a problem , too many people are experiencing it. I just experienced it again tonight , but I won't bore you with details. If you realise/care that there is a problem SAY SO Back when I was in the world we would sometimes Fedex a new software release all over the globe only to have somebody find a problem one hour later. I did 3 things Start the search for a fix Start the search for the best workaround FESS UP - tell/warn people there was a problem I suppose I'll get a warning for this post I'll be happy to post it

farangsay
We are working hard to solve this issue together with the software vendor. We expect a solution shortly.Sorry for the inconvenience! Firstly , George et al , sorry for ranting before but the problem is very frustrating. Secondly , as the problem is ongoing (I am biting my tongue til it bleeds tonight) is the forum of a scale to have some in-house expertise because your "software vendor" seems to be a tosspot. NB I am not touting for work as this is completely out of my area. It just seems that a forum which functioned very well before seems to have been totlally screwed up and I hope my words have been mild compared to those you have been using with your supplier. PPS I was actually going to put a smilie on this one. Where's the one with the big smile gone ?
