PHUKET: -- Two people were injured in the early hours of this morning when the pickup truck they were in was involved in an accident with a tour bus carrying Chinese tourists in Chalong. None of the Chinese tourists on the bus are reported to have been injured.

Both the bus driver and driver of the pickup are blaming each other for the accident.

At 4:26am today (Jan 27), Chalong Police received information of an accident on the road leading to the Luangpu Supha Temple on Moo 6, Chalong.

Capt Somkiet Sarasit of the Chalong Police arrived at the scene with Ruamjai Kupai rescue workers to find a Bangkok registered tour bus with its front damaged.

Nearby was a damaged Phuket registered white Toyota pickup truck with the driver and passenger still inside.

They should assign fault for the accident by measuring the blood alcohol content levels of the drivers.  The driver with the higher content level is at fault.

Or highest bidder wins ?

us thai visa detectives need a bit more, so the bus had frontal damage and the pick up side damage by that we can deduce the bus hit the pick up, that's as far as i go, would like to hear their stories.

Well the law in Thailand is the same as in Australia, UK etc.... give way to the right.  So without knowing the full details of the accident and only having pictures to base a theory on..... the pickup driver failed to give way to the right (the bus), hence the damage on the right side of the pickup and the front of the bus. Therefore, the pickup driver is at fault.  However, without knowing the full story and the exact location etc we can only guess.

Are you driving here? Rule here is give way to the left if the roads are of equal importance.

Reading the full article it says the bus driver stated he was travelling to Karon and the pick up was coming in opposite direction but veered onto buses side of road causing collision (banjoed each other) The pick up driver says the bus came onto his side so not his fault...

Looking at pic of bus in main article it is stopped clearly fouling center markings of road which leads to the fact bus was straggling centre line... So was both drivers bagged? Bet not, next!
