grollies
On the topic subject, I wear shorts and crocs around the farm during the day unless I'm up before daybreak in which case I'll throw on a pair of jeans first before changing later into shorts. Post-afternoon chores I'll have a swim, a wind down beer, shower and change into jeans, socks, and tee shirt around sundown. I use mozzy spray on socks around ankles and bare arms. 12% deet spray works for me.
oval
People who say you can't wear shorts in Bangkok are plain wrong. I am out and about in Bangkok every weekend, and Thais everywhere are wearing shorts, especially the younger generation. While I agree that trousers are the preferred option and more polite, it is no longer correct that shorts cannot be worn. Wear them if you find trousers too hot. geronimo
Shorts are fine, but you really need to cover any bare skin with mozzy repellent. There are a number of brands that smell quite nice, and they seem to work fine.
