land title or something ?

Featured Replies

My wife bought some land of the village boss , about 2.5 rai.
its in the corner of her small village. the land was sugarcane land befor , and now has a concrete road around it  after the village upgraded all the roads .we are building a house a this land.

ive asked my wife if its possible to get some sort of title ... nor tor bor , or nor sor sam . To be honest i dont know much about land / house titles . i know its really possible to get chanote  but is there something she can do ?

the house is costing 1.2+ million .
The reason i want her to get a title of some form is so she can show it as an asset.  maybe..

What paperwork did your wife receive from the village boss when she paid him.

If there is no paperwork, then it is probably Sor por kor. Hope that's the right name. In which case it was granted to farmers, and is not legally allowed to be sold. A lot of houses where we are are sold like that, land as well, and only the westerners are bothered by it.

So, you may not be able to claim half if you divorce, because legally, neither of you can own it. One good thing, is that she probably can't morgage it to gamble, or buy stuff for family.

This is my understanding of the situation anyway.
