SINGBURI: -- Singburi police yesterday arrested a suspected drug trafficker after he drove through a road checkpoint with speed but skidded and fell into the ditch.

200,000 baht in cash, 1,362 methamphetamines, and 10 rounds of ammunition were found in his possession.

The trafficker was later identified as Apiwat Switching alias “Aye Thamai.”

Inburi district police set up checkpoint at KM 20 of the road from Singburi to Chainat to check passing vehicles.

But Apiwat refused to stop for search and drove through with speed.

He drove with, at, or on, speed? Whichever, he evidently found time for a snooze.

Yes, I'm surprised he was able to nap, meth being what it is.

According to the link in the TV email, the guy napped with the drugs and that would have been a true 'man bites dog' news story.
