By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Chulalongkorn University’s demonstration school (elementary) has suspended its class Monday and Tuesday in the wake of Influenza A outbreak.

The school announced that the measure is necessary so as to prevent the disease from spreading further.

It also advised its students to immediately see doctors if they fall ill and to not come to schools until they full recover.

It must have been a really bad flu virus as they choose to close the school!
H1A1 is sometimes called Spanish flu, during the 1918 outbreak/pandemic at least 50 million people died.
H5A1 or Avian influenza (bird flu)

I foresee a week of denying there is a problem, followed by confirmation and then a cure from Mahidol University by next Tue.

I read once that there is about 500 cold viruses. That each time you get one cold you develop anti-virus that causes you never to get that cold/virus again. It was once you'd only be exposed to those cold viruses within a hundred mile or so of where you lived and soon enough you'd get infected, develop anti-virus; and never get colds again.

Now with travel your particular world will get exposed to many more viruses. People come to Thailand that haven't had a cold in 30 years; first thing happens is they are exposed to a cold/virus and bang it goes. There will always be some Chinese-Russian-Indian on your bus or van or skytrain that has a cold/virus you haven't been exposed to.

Just hope there isn't some person with in incurrable virus coughing around Thailand or the airport.
