Prayut

BANGKOK: -- THE GOVERNMENT’S new reconciliation committee will be made up mostly of military officers and state officials with a minority of members with specialist experience.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday night signed an order to appoint members of four committees under one umbrella covering reform, reconciliation, and national strategy.

Each of the four committees – the national strategy preparation committee, reform preparation committee, reconciliation preparation committee and strategic administration committee – will be chaired by Prayut, with one or two deputy PMs as vice chairman. Most members of the four committees are ministers, state officials, and the president and vice president of National Legislative Assembly and National Reform Steering Assembly.

there will be no reconciliation if the military are not just and fair to all political parties in Thailand. PTP should not be excluded. They are the majority whether our self made PM agrees or not.

They need only 4 agreements.

1.the military will sign an agreement not to stage military coups, with the death penalty for anyone that attempts to overthrow an elected government.

2. The military will make a solemn oath to stand behind and support whichever government is elected.

3. Suthep must sign an agreement to accept an elected government, and stop holding the country to ransom.

4. Pt and all parties must sign an agreement that any solid evidence of election fraud will automatically exclude their party including MP from that election year.

Unfortunately 1,2, and 3 have already stated they will not be signing anything in the reconciliation process, so what's the point of the meeting.

You need 3 hands to clap, to make a sound.

Reconcile to put up with military rule, as nobody is allowed to join the club unless they wear the uniform or are an outstanding sycophant.  The even minded, fair and well educated need not inquire about club membership.

Staging a coup and afterwards offering "reconciliation" does not make sense at all. No one takes power by force with the intention to ever give it up.

You have answered your own question.

Wow! Committees galore in the Thailand the Asian hub of committees.

1. Strategy Preparation Committee.

2. Reform Preparation Committee.

3. Reconciliation Preparation committee.

4. Strategic Administration Committee.

That's not even counting the sub-committees?

And the deplorables do not even get a look-in on these highly rewarding, self-inclusive, pocket piddling, backslapping committees.

Are you trying to say they are a committee of back slappers??

Yes. With the committees being solely of military people, senior officials and "specialists" I see them as a collection of servile sycophants who enjoy flattering each other to maintain their own high individual ego levels.

You forgot panels, sub-panels, steering committees, advisory boards, councils, task forces, chambers and knitting circles.

I did. Thank you for reminding me. I think the military media spies will pick up on your post and take the your suggestions on board. The gravy train trough could get very wide and deep. The number of discussion groups is inversely proportional to the chances of the reconciliation process being finality reconciled.
