Featured Replies

please could someone give me some advice i am in thailand on a non immigrant o visa which i obtained in london { i am a uk passport holder } which is about to expire instead of applying for a extension i would like to change to retirement visa  please could someone tell me what paperwork is required i intend to go to chaeng wattana

i am married to a thai lady and will obtain a proof of income letter from the uk embassy { 400:000 baht per year income}.

i have searched online for this information and talked to a number of armchair experts and recived so much conflicting advice.

No can do that! Go home in your case to UK and get your O-A.... Otherwise extension is your choice

You can only apply for a Non-OA at the embassy in London.

You can only apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement at you local immigration office. You need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or proof 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

Since you married to a Thai you could also apply for a extension based upon marriage. The financial requirements are 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

There isn't a "retirement visa" that can be applied for in Thailand.

If you want a Non Immigrant 'O-A' visa you can only get it in the UK.

As you are in Thailand, and entered with a Non 'O' visa, you need to leave the country at the end of 90 days or apply for an extension of stay on the basis of marriage or retirement.

Marriage; you need an income of at least 40K pm or 400K in the bank.

Retirement; you need an income of at least 65K pm or 800K in the bank or a combination of income and money in the bank totalling 800K.
