Thai Cabinet OKs fund to bring electrical cables underground in 4 cities

Featured Replies

Unless they put ALL the wires underground it's just a total waste of time and money.  If they actually put them underground on Pattaya Second Road it would be nice if they improved the sidewalks at the same time--which would be a good time to do it.  Disgraceful for such a major, major road with so many pedestrians having to walk in the street in places where there are no sidewalks at all.

An optimist.... your assuming that they will run at all

gonna end up digging them up every other week to fix 'em!

I wish this were true. However I think they have grossly underestimated the complexity of the job. We wait with bated breath for the day of organised power cables. They don't have a standard infrastructure which makes things so much more slower and yes therefore more expensive.

And as mentioned earlier all those 'extra ' cables for other services. Are they going to be underground too?

After years of digging up the Sukumvit road , Soi SCC, and many other side Soi,s for tunnels and water mains, we will now have to put up with more digging up of the roads for this farcical project ( if it ever happens ).

Even more traffic chaos around Pattaya to come

Is there no end to all this  ??????

To answer your question: no there's no end to it. At least not in our lifetime!

It takes decades to move from a developing country to a developed country.
