quickest visa - travelling soon - ireland

Featured Replies

make this short & sweet,        i need  fast visa from ireland,  im irish citizen .  i can go to thai consule in dublin tomorrow if nessesary.     need 2-6 months visa.

advice please.

The simplest visa to apply for is the single entry tourist visa. I believe it will be free of charge right now. I would suggest calling the Dublin embassy early tomorrow, and explaining the situation. My expectation is that you can drop off the application tomorrow, but (unless you can show really unusual circumstances) the earliest they will likely agree to provide the visa is Monday afternoon. Additional visas are easily applied for (in 2 days) in countries bordering Thailand if you need more time.

An alternative would be to travel without a visa, receiving a 30-day visa exempt entry on arrival. This can be extended for an additional 30 days in country. Note, however, that the airline may not want to allow you to board, when you have no visa, unless you have an onward flight booked out of Thailand within 30 days. Cheap throwaway tickets on a budget airline are a common way of dealing with this requirement when necessary.

Tourist visa unless you qualify for something else.
