BANGKOK: -- Pheu Thai Party will join the government initiated reconciliation talks on March 8, willing to discuss all matters except the 20-year national strategy plan.

The party’s acting secretary general Phumtham Wechayachai said on Teusday the party agreed that society needs reconciliation, and open discussions on the issue would help bring fruitful results.

However, the government should assure to the public that reconciliation is taking place now. It should also be sincere and ready to accept different views.

At press time, it could not be confirmed whether Yingluck Shinawatra would join the talks.

Just like the UDD did.

I seriously doubt whether ys has enough knowledge insight to give any national level suggestions or even low level suggestions about this subject.

So let's ask Mr. Phumtham, is there any point in ys joining this discussion, if she did:

- Could she give any immediate valuable discussion points?

- Or would your gang just be embarrassed because, as usual, she doesn't contribute anything?

Of course they don't want to talk about a 20 year development plan, they're frightened someone will attempt to lock them in. Just what they don't want, there is little doubt given an inch they will rape the country again, so they want everything as open as possible.

It is somehow similar to the U.S. where they hold "NFL World Series" without participants from other countries.

The NFL hosts the Super Bowl. NFL = National Football League.  MLB's championship is titled The World Series.  MLB = Major League Baseball. The name "The World Series" exists as a copywrited entity solely for marketing purposes.  Everyone is aware it isn't a global championship event.

Thanks for clarification :shock1:

I know I may be thinking "outside the box" , instead of asking Mr Phumtham, why not ask the Thai people? You know, have an election?

Here is where the wheels fall off of the wagon. The good PM has been watching the South China Sea episode unfold on TV. The Chinese deal on the basis its their way or the highway but they do it in a very condesending manner

Dear Scorecard

Could you do us all a favor and switch to black print. That green is so hard to read. If you say something intelligent we could miss it.

A real election - with party manifestos, proper debates, no vote buying, coercion and intimidation and all parties allowed to campaign in all areas without hired thugs attacking them?

And perhaps without private militias with non elected leaders disrupting them?

Would be good.

How quaint and rude, attack the poster.

By the way, I didn't submit in green color, someone else has 'played' with my post.

Have a look at #3 which is his original post and #12 where he replied.

Absolutely,  all that,  applicable to both sides of course.

Might I add,  without blocking registration of candidates or indeed access to polling stations. And of course no veilled  threats from senior military officers,  In fact the military confined to barracks unless required for genuine security duties,  not advising or suggesting how to cast ones vote.

That way if we don't, end up with "reconciliation" ,  at least we will have a government chosen by the people.

Then, once it is over and the winning party's form a government, they should be allowed to govern, free from the constant threat of military intervention.

And if they prove to be unpopular or ineffective why, them vote them out at the next election

As I said, thinking out of the box...

Sorry not attacking you. If someone played with the color my apologies again.

But that also means a government that abides by and respects the law, parliamentary process and procedure and doesn't think themselves above the law and totally entitled. How novel.
