Six local officials axed for defying NCPO order

 

 

BANGKOK: -- Six local administration officials in Pathum Thani province were on Wednesday abruptly transferred to work at the Local Administration College in Thanya Buri district for allegedly defying the NCPO order declaring Wat Dhammakaya a “controlled zone”.

 

Pathum Thani governor Surachai Khan-asa signed the transfer order with immediate effect on Sunday after the six local administration officials were summoned to report themselves to him on Wednesday morning.

 

The six officials who faced the axe were Mr Thai Thongprang, mayor of Tha Khlong municipal; Mr Pakorn Thongprang, vice mayor of Tha Khlong municipal; Mr Veerasakdi Hadda, mayor of Klong Sam Tambon Administration Organization; Mrs Durian Poonpitak, a member of Klong Sam TAO council; Mr Sathaporn Masap, kamnan of Tambon Klong Sam; and Veera Wongmangmee, headman of Village 7 of Tambon Klong Sam.

I wish they would quite using such graphic terms as axed. I get crazy visions in my head reading this. Then further down they state that they were transferred. I am glad nobody lost their head over this.

No. Axed is the correct term. They lost their fingers at the till...
