Soon I will be moving to Loei Province. Is Chiang Khan still the immigration office? I want to change to the retirement visa there if possible. Then 90 reports.

Yes it is and they have been reported as not being very friendly .

What do you mean by change to a retirement extension?

If you mean from a tourist visa entry to a non immigrant visa it cannot be done there.

I am on a NON O marriage visa now. Friendly or not doesn't matter as long as I can get it done there.

You can do it there.

Just wanted to warn you about their reputation.

I will be there in a few weeks on holiday and was wondering if I could get a Re Entry permit at Chiang Khan Immi Office for when I go on holiday early next year. I live in Bangkok and always deal with Chaengwattana.

This would be a lot easier than traipsing all ther way to CWattana!!

Any dealings?

If you are on an extension of stay you have to do it at the office where you applied for it.

You can apply for a re-entry permit at either airport in Bangkok on departure from the country.

OK thanks Joe.

I am on an extension of stay (go every year to CW for renewal/extension). So it can only be done at CW or both BKK airports?

Yes

It can also be done at some border crossings and other airports.
