February 24, 20179 yr Not a good sign for our dear leader. The anger is spreading all across the country. Time to think smart and end this joke.( his advisors are afraid to advise him because Mr know it all).
February 24, 20179 yr Let me understand this. The monks from other temples are saying that this one abbot is a true follower of Bhudda and therefore everything he has done, from embezzlement to a scientology / southern baptist evangelical style of ripoffs is ok?

If you had read the article you would perhaps not be demanding that you should be allowed to "understand" This is what they are saying: "The group, led by Chiang Mai deputy monastic chief Phra Thepmangalajarn who is also Wat Tha Ton abbot, said such action hurt Buddhists’ sentiment and created bad feeling among the public. They urged authorities to use more gentle or compromising methods to handle the case and said they would return next week to hear the answer." Those are the only comments, by the group, reported in the article. No mention of everything alleged being OK, just appealing for general "niceness" in dealing with the issue and that it should not be the subject of a "Führerbefehl". It cannot be emphasised strongly enough that, even though we invariably find ourselves commenting upon "news", it is always a good idea to read the reported statements before spewing forth.. A variant of "engage brain before opening mouth". Edited February 25, 20179 yr by Enoon

I think most of us who have followed this saga over recent months may be forgiven for feeling that the country's somewhat irascible ex-military leader has shown remarkable tolerance to those monks and lay supporters standing between their fugitive Abbot and justice. Perhaps this is because the doyen of Thailand's biggest Buddhist temple is accused of relatively trivial stuff - money laundering and receiving stolen goods worth a billion baht - rather than a really serious crime like saying something nasty about the country's rulers. February 25, 20179 yr "... abbot, said such action hurt Buddhists’ sentiment and created bad feeling among the public. .." It is not that action of the PM but the criminal monk from that infamous rich temple who is hurting Buddhists’ sentiment and creating bad feeling among the public.

No where is my posts did I mention anything remotely like "some farangs believe democracy is not for Thais" Would be better if you responded specific to the thread and the posts, instead you divert and twist and elude, dishonestly, to things that I've never said. Focus please. Edited February 25, 20179 yr by scorecard
