Best way to Pattaya from Nong Han by car

Featured Replies

Heading to Pattaya in March and was wondering which is the most direct route avoiding BKK.

Down 2 to Korat, then take the 304 onto the 331, expect some roadworks on the 304, should be nearly finished now but a lot of road improvements on that road.

Seems I have overlooked this thread.

Not much to add to previous post.

Some drivers are keen on staying on #2, #1, #9, #7 (tollways included).

But that adds a significant detour, toll fees and hard to predict jams.

I lost enthusiasm to drive by car but when I did I preferred the #304, #331 route.

Extremely aggressive driving on #9 and #7.

I would be interested on up-to-date reports about road works on #304.

I drive this route quite a bit and have for many years, it used to be quicker/easier to take the "tollways" ending up on the 7, but with traffic congestion now easier to take the 331. Only problem with the 331 is all the traffic lights, if you hit them at the wrong times - which invariably I do! it adds an hour onto the journey.

I like the 304, nice road and one of the few roads in Thailand I actually enjoy driving on, next to highway 12 probably one of the better roads in Thailand, once all the roadworks are finished will be a good run!
