Gunmen in military fatigue torched Kosit TAO in Narathiwat

 

 

NARATHIWAT: -- Seven gunmen in military fatigues broke into the office of a tambon administration organization (TAO) in Narathiwat’s Takbai district, torched the office building and a car and then escaped in another vehicle stolen from the office.

 

Security forces were alerted of the incident which took place Saturday night, but they decided not to rush to the Kosit TAO until Sunday morning for fear that they might be ambushed by the assailants on their way to the TAO office.

 

Security forces arrived at the scene Sunday morning only to find the TAO office partially damaged from fire and a rescue pickup truck torched.

The stationed 'security forces' were not security forces after all, if their capacity to protect a Tambon office is mitigated by their own numbers and/or fear. Perfect opportunity to catch a number of reprobates. They let it slide.

 

Story is equally indecisive about motive, hovering between suggesting an insurgent / terrorist attack and theft.

The slow response may have been due to the location of the '' security force if it exists)  may have been unknown,  no one with rank or balls to order the fast response you would expect,  wait for firetruck to lead the way, or they were at a bar or sleepover . Maybe there were several groups /individuals who wanted to see records lost due to a fire aqnd the stolen vehicle was a bonus.

Maybe the bib  can sort it all out and get a photo shoot out of it.

... Security Force decided to not "rush" to the TAO until the following morning.  Great reporting, accidentally highlighting the possibility this was actually an Insecurity Force or a Security Farce.
