Education minister opens vocational boot camp

 

BANGKOK, 2 March 2017 (NNT) – The Ministry of Education has introduced an Education to Employment Vocational Boot Camp campaign to improve students' skills during school break. 

Education Minister Teerakiat Jareonsettasin presided over the ceremony for the launching of Education to Employment Vocational Boot Camp at Minburi Technical College. 

He said the Ministry of Education aims to enhance the skills of vocational students to answer to the country’s needs by providing intensive training programs practical for SME businesses. 

The campaign is targeted towards last year's vocational students and the general public who may be currently unemployed, recently graduated, working independently or those who wish to gain more occupational skills. 

Vocational Education Commission Secretary-General Suthep Chitayawong said the campaign will provide trainings under nine main categories, including industry, commerce, agriculture, home economics, tourism, information technology, arts, fisheries, and textiles, as well as courses corresponding to Grow Engine S-curve for Thailand 4.0 goal such as aircraft cracks inspection, logistics driver, mechatronics engineer in manufacturing, rail logistics, high-speed rail and energy alongside courses corresponding to local needs.
