8 1/2 X 11 Paper

Featured Replies

Couldn't figure out what forum to post this in, but simple question: Where can I get some 8 1/2" x 11" paper?  Also called "letter size" in the US. I don't want much; maybe a 100 sheet pack.

Tesco, Big C, Office Depot, etc... Plenty of places!

Are you sure?

Plenty of metric paper (A4) but letter is a peculiarly American size these days?

@sturdyd any particular reason you need letter, A4 works in most cases.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

A4 might be the closest size here.....

In CM the large stationery store at Robinsons has stationery for business up to artist supplies that may have it.....

Probably little hope in outlying areas to find a US standard size....

Have not required for about 20 years as even USA seems to be able to process A4 size now - but when I did require it was available in office supply stores here (and believe a lot of the computer tab feed paper was that size also).

If you can submit via fax/email does not matter as you can set up your computer to process as letter size and forward as such.

Thanks for the replies. I get it about A4 and I have plenty laying around. But what I'm doing is scanning some old US documents and certificates from my archives and want to print out copies in their original 8 1/2 v 11 size. And, yeah, I know I could resize then for A4 and/or adjust margins and stuff, but I'd really like them to be as original as possible. I guess I'll try the larger chain office supply stores in a couple of local malls. But I have faint hope.

No problem scanning them as they accept letter size - you could then take to photo shop to make copies in whatever size you want (does not cost that much if just a dozen or so).  They can print on larger paper size and cut.

Might help if you said "where" for local knowledge and help.

Some old topics here that could be useful.

I don't read Thai  but, guessing from the appearance, it seems that the paper may be available from Office Mate - but special order only. http://www.officemate.co.th/Product/5000131/

Suspect that is what I once bought - but found on shelf.  I also was able to get small packets of 20 or so sheets from Foodland Supermarket in the distant past (that might be worth a check as they are slow to change such things).

Here's how I solved my problem. Possibly helpful to somebody else who only needs a few sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch or other odd size paper. I went to a small school/art supply shop and found a drawing pad with a dozen or so pages that felt similar to a 24 pound bond. The pad was sized 260 x 375 mm. I had the lady at the shop use her paper cutter to trim a dozen sheets from the pad to US letter size. Total cost 25 baht. 15 for the pad and nothing for the cutting,  but I gave a 10 baht tip.
