A SHORT film about the Thai pup Cola, who gained media notoriety after his front legs were cruelly hacked off by a neighbour, has been listed for a prize at the Charity Film Awards in London.

The film “Love Will Always Triumph Over Evil” tells the story of how the Soi Dog Foundation rescued Cola in Bangkok in 2016 after a neighbour attacked him with a sword because the dog had chewed his shoes.

After initial treatment in Bangkok, Cola was fitted with prosthetic legs by the Soi Dog Foundation, and is now able to walk and run as he used to. In a twist of fate, Cola was adopted by Gill Dalley, co-founder of Soi Dog Foundation, herself a double leg amputee.

amazing Cola and such happiness   , such an amazing place soidog's

I can`t watch the video, too sad although they all lived happily ever after.

I in fact love animals more than I do most people. In majority of cases if a pet dog is cared for properly, it`s love and loyalty will be unconditional toward the owners. And although I realise even a dog can turn I still trust the motives and loyalties of people much, much less. Humans that harm animals for the sake of cruelty I hate with intensity.

You should watch the video - I don't think I've seen a happier dog in my 12 years living in Thailand.

Anyone know what happened to the b's't'd who mutilated the dog?

Thanks for sharing the videos!

When I first heard of Soi Dog sending 8 dogs to the Uk I thought misguided but well meaning farangs - should think about humans first. Then I had a look at their website and found they have sterilised over 100k animals and rescued countless others from miserable lives that deserves the utmost respect. Most Thais seem to have a fatalistic approach that nothing can be done and that's the way it is - these farang are showing a wonderful hands on approach to making the  world a better place - one step at a time.:sleepy:

Reading the Nation Article Gill Dalley the co-founder of Soi Dog Foundation died last month after a short Battle with cancer.

RIP Gill and what a great legacy she leaves behind and good luck to her husband John.

I feel more sorry for dogs in the west, kept in prison like conditions, allowed out reluctantly on a lead, shame.

A great story. Mellowed me out. Brings one back to reality and diminishes the Keyboard Warrior instinct. Enough to make a grown man cry which I have often done.

There's a lot of truth in that - some soi dogs have social networks , freedom to roam and are fed by the inhabitants of the soi and seem generally be well centred and happy whereas alll western dogs are owned and kept in often stultifying possesive relationships with their owners and get a small chance to socialise when out walking on the leash - which is often just a passing ass-sniff at best. Dogs are pack animals afte rall.
