All the shops are crowded at this time of the year so Christmas shopping is h*ll. In October, the shops are not packed. If we move Christmas to October them everyone will be able to shop in peace. What do you think of that?

Let's have 'Randon Acts of Kindness Day' - every day. Try this: buy little sweets or toy do-dads and carry them around with you. Giving them away in Thailand is easy - and the smiles and good cheer will flow like sparkling wine.

As for Xmas - too commercialized for an old coot like me. One of the toughest tasks is to go shopping (for some practical stuff) and get assaulted (that's the nicest work I can find for it) ...by Alvin and the Chipmunks screaming Xmas carols on the P.A. - simultaneously; three to four other god-awful types of music - full-on in the treble range - screaming from every other direction. Ear plugs should be handed out at every street corner.

Brazilians are to lovely soulful music - what Thais are to painfully loud sounds.
