Last week of March I have an Airasia flight arriving at 1pm on a Wednesday to KL2.  The only other flight available to my destination on the same day is Airasia at 3pm also from KL2.  Really would like to make the same day flight, if at all possible.

I have no checked bags and I'm a fast runner..

Am I likely to make the departing flight?   Or possible, but highly inadvisable?

Anyone else done something similar?

Have u booked your first flt yet? If not here is what you can do go to air asia booking engine and book flits from your origin point to the last airport u intend to travel to. Normally thos shows the connections possible at KL the flights will be cheaper because you wont be paying some related travel taxis and if the first flight is delayed and u miss your connection it will be air asia responsability to put you on the next flight in case you buy the tickets seperately if by any chance the first flight is late and u miss the next one all expenses in rebooking it will be on you pocket

Coming from where, going to where?

Is it an international transit or going through immigration?

Sorry for my ignorance, maybe the answer lies in "KL2".

It is doable and you should have enough time for a burger.

Had to do it in 45min once with passing immigration in and out without luggage.

Doing this with only carry-on: YES, I would risk it

Doing this with checked luggage: NO, I would not risk it

FD flights are considerably more on time than AK flights, so hopefully your DMK-KUL flight is on FD metal

The last 4 times I flew into KL2 the minimum time I had to wait to clear immigration was 50 mins. Last weekend it took me 75 mins to clear immigration! Plus 10 mins to walk briskly from the gate to the immigration hall makes close to 1 1/2 hours just to enter the country. Leaving the country is usually very fast but 2 months ago there were long queues there as well, with waiting times of up to 30 mins.

So, yes, it is doable and if the airline issues the connecting flight on one PNR (ticket) then I wouldn´t worry too much since then, as it´s been said above, it will be the airlines job to sort any mess out for you. But then again, would I trust a low-cost carrier to have a customer friendly service approach when it comes to missed connections? The answer is a clear "No".
