The Thai National Anthem lyrics

Featured Replies

The Thai National Anthem (Youtube video with english subtitles) is played in the cinemas before every movie. For that reason, even though I don't understand the Thai lyrics, the sound has somehow got ingrained in my mind. Some time ago though (perhaps even a few years now), I noticed that the lyrics had changed slightly. Where they before sang something like "Chong Sarit, Chong Sarai", they now sing "Chong Sarit... Dang" (have a look at 1:05 in the video). I still expect to hear the "old" lyrics, even though I must've been to the movies at least 7-8 times since it changed :)

Anybody know what the difference in the lyrics are, and why they changed it? I'm pretty sure they changed it long before H.M. passed away.
