If Irish Stew is not made with Lamb, it ain't Irish Stew. I oughta know as my Mother prepared it once a week for myself, my brother and my father growing up in Carlow. Even when we immigrated to America she would always make it for us and it was with Lamb. A heresy to spoil one of Ireland's culinary treats. For those wishing to sample real Irish Stew with Lamb simply head to O'Malley's Irish Pub any day. The owner, Scott, takes great pride in this dish and he is the one who prepares it everyday.

Thanks idman I'll check out O'Malleys, as I love a proper Irish stew,. BTW the one at UNI is OK, but with beef and a piece carrot o two it's definitely not Irish stew

hes right :)

 

its a lovely stew in a bigger bowl than the un irish but the un irish one has a better

oxo cube gravy taste and smell to it which i like more 

 

it certainly was good and a bonus for me was seeing their huge persian cat :)

 

ill go back for sure now that soi 1 resturant off chang klan road has closed

ps ... the last time i was in omalleys i tried the chicken pot pie but it had way too much

salt in it :(

your right , the cats huge . but no i left with the other one that lives there :)

 

i had a ride round this morning to see if there were any pretties in short green dresses

at omalleys but no .... not yet .... its open but with zilch little lovelys yet

 

the un irish have no green balloons out either but it will be thumping tonight

with the usual spill over of drunken leprechauns crawling down to zoe in yellow

for a rave up :)

Well i had to follow this thread up so here ya go

In the un irish it was heaving with people even standing on the pavement

O malleys was the same but no little lovelys this year

Even the hard rock cafe got in on the act but the staff outnumbered the customers as usuall

No lovlies this time at O'Malleys???? Sir, with absolutely no due respect to you, are you drinking your bath water once again. Did you even go by there or if so were you wearing blinders? Three lovlies in black tight skirts, two lovlies in black pants and white shirts and of course the amazing Ice who was showing off two of her best assests. That was six lovlies by my count who helped make this St.Patrick's at O'Malleys one of the best ever.

Your ONE photo taken from a distance, you claim to have actually gone in and still did not see the lovlies??? You Sir are bearing false witness to the FACTS. By the way I never referred to the photo you posted, I simply stated for the record that on St. Patrick's day there were six lovelies there all evening. Five provide by the beverage distributor and one by the owner Scot. In your photo of O'Malleys I happen to be in the photo at the table in the back and was there for four hours so I am at least am not talking out of my <deleted> when I dispute your B.S.
