I wouldn't trust the GCHQ to tell the truth here, and more fool you if you believe them. After all, this is the very same GCHQ that was implemented alongside the NSA in whistleblower Edward Snowden's security leaks of worldwide wiretapping and recording of every users information. They're known for data mining from smart phones and PCs, that's what they specialise in, and they never admit the truth, no matter what. Take a look at all their past denials of data mining other countries governments and you'll see "no comment". So why the press release now?

Oh, you wouldn't; that's so nice to hear.

There is a reason, why I'm so much against Russian influence to our western world.

The reason is this. I assume you understand the language. Mister Senior Payer...

I'm from a neighbouring country of Russia and when this happened to my mother - in real life, it was not just a silly video anymore. It was the real deal. We are supposed to be the good ones in the world.

I support western values of life for a good and real reason.

It's not much of a power. A President's signature is not enough. A trade agreement still needs the approval of Congress.

Take Nafta, for instance. It's true that the final bill was signed by Clinton. But it had to get through both houses of Congress first. Democrats in the house voted mostly against it. But Republicans were virtually unanimous in their support of it.

This is a lie that been repeated hundreds of times.  Repeating lies does not make it true.

NAFTA was signed by George HW Bush in 1992 after he lost the election. ?

Let's also not forget that Obama, perfect-lovable-Obama,  wiretapped the EU de-facto leader Angela Mad Merkel before getting found out, then had to apologise. Truth was, Obama was wiretap happy during his presidency. And yet, because these snakes-in-the-grass Trump opponents tell you what you want to hear, because your hatred of Trump is so paramount, you believe them. Well, the Establishment knows how to kick a dog when it's down, and that's what's going on here.

The Modus Operandi of GCHQ is not to gain your approval. Primarily, they are there to protect the UK and western liberal democracy generally. Their capability is literally unbelievable and I'm glad they're on our side. NSA are way behind....

Here is a quote from the article-

GCHQ and the NSA are consequently able to access and process vast quantities of communications between entirely innocent people, as well as targeted suspects.

This includes recordings of phone calls, the content of email messages, entries on Facebook and the history of any internet user's access to websites – all of which is deemed legal, even though the warrant system was supposed to limit interception to a specified range of targets.

They first claim evidence before any accusations by Trump, then state that it is absurd to think there is evidence. Both articles are written by Michael J. Schmidt. He must think we are stupid.

So you are similar to Trump? Read a headline and make the rest up? A lot of posters make the same mistake. Read the OP but not the link and go off on conspiracies that the full article dismisses. Perhaps English comprehension is your problem? Trump's tweets suggest he has little.

Isn't modern wireless surveillance wonderful? You can spy on people and not leave a trace. Except if you fail to delete your emails talking about it and some smart guy finds them.

Lot of intelligence is based on who is talking to who and the frequency of the calls, not the content.

Dude, seriously??? There's this nifty little thing called Google. It's really not all that complicated. You should try using it before making yourself look silly. Bush signed the treaty, NOT, as ilostmypassword correctly notes, the final bill. Once a treaty is signed it still has to be ratified by the House of Representatives before becoming law, and until that happens no treaty is valid. The House ratified the treaty on November 17, 1993 and Clinton signed the final legislation into law on December 8, 1993 (please note that Clinton was inaugurated as President on January 20, 1993). Check it out...https://www.thebalance.com/history-of-nafta-3306272. Before insisting that someone is lying and that you have the REAL facts, get all the REAL facts. Otherwise YOU become the one who is lying.

The whole Trump fiasco is going on far too long.  It is a slow embarrassing death for the USA's credibility and his Presidency surely must be halted.  The Trumpsters need to stop this continual denial of what a monumental mistake electing Trump was and wake up to reality!  We all make mistakes and boy is this a Biggy!

The Trump Administration needs to create a new full-time cabinet position--Secretary of Apology.  Because every time Trump says something insanely stupid, someone has to apologize on behalf of the country.  This will be the busiest job in Washington DC.

Another google-challenged poster.

Yes, the draft was signed by George H.W. Bush. But then Congress had to approve it and it then got its final and necessary signature from Bill Clinton.  You see, it's a law and laws have to be passed by congress and then signed off on, or at least not vetoed by the President. Let me know if that's too difficult for you to understand.

"The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is signed into law by President Bill Clinton. Clinton said he hoped the agreement would encourage other nations to work toward a broader world-trade pact."

There's one crucial difference: Berkshire has plenty of evidence.

You're just another delusional Trump stooge.  Maybe you can apologize to the Brits for....

...or the Germans for...

etc., etc.  But don't worry about the Russians.  Putin can take over all of eastern Europe and your boy Trump won't say a word.

Therefore, if  no evidence is found that GCHQ did wiretap Trump, it means that they did it.  So, I guess, if evidence is found that GCHQ wiretapped Trump, it must mean that they didn't.

Yes, Obama apologized but there was no "getting found out."

No, Obama did not wiretap Merkel's phone.

Germany's top public prosecutor Harald Range investigated Snowden's allegations and found "that there is no proof that U.S. Intelligence had, in fact, tapped Merkel’s phone. He said, 'The document presented in public as proof of an actual tapping of the mobile phone is not an authentic surveillance order by the NSA. It does not come from the NSA database."
