Could anybody give me a hand on the following :

I would like to get a visa exempt for 30 days but i would be flying on a ticket that has a return in 58 days.

Would get a prolongation at local immigration. Altough this time, i think i would get some of the local firms to handle my extension (is this possible at Jomtien ?).
I found the procedure to ask for the prolongation very tiring before..

I wonder ... if i arrive at Swampy, they usually don't ask about a return ticket. Only once they asked.
But if they ask me now, I only return in 58 days. I am planning to stay in the country.

Would i be refused ?  Can i say I will just get a prolongation or i will change my ticket and return sooner  ?

Would it be safer to get a 59 days visa from home ? No idea about the cost. The local consulate website doesn't mention the price.
The air fare is about 110 euro cheaper if i leave rather fast, compared to waiting for the visa here to be delivered.
I mean : if i leave in a few days, i pay 110 less. If i wait 10 days the airfare goes up with minimum 110 euro, about 4600 Bath.

Immigration does not normally ask for ticket out of the country within 30 days. The airline may ask to see ticket out within 30 day in order to board your flight though. A one one way ticket on a low cost carrier to any nearby country will be accepted to meet the requirement.

If you had time to get a single entry tourist visa that would be the best option. The basic fee for the visa is 1000 baht but embassies and consulates set a rate in local currency that is more favorable to them than you though. It seems 30 euros is often used as the fee.

If i count the 30 euro cost for visa + 110 euro higher ticket price, compared to 1900 bath for immigration in LOS, plus the visa office's fee (1000 or more ?), plus the fear to not be granted a prolongation (you never know in Asia, I think)    I would probably have recovered most of my euro extra cost.
Thinking to get the one entry cause it's a no hassle solution.

Will consider the 'cheap flight out' option too. Must be possible to book a local cheap ticket to a neighbouring country at a discount price. Just no idea what country would let me in without a visa, to get my story straight. I know Vietnam and China for example don't..      Hong Kong would be open to Europeans without visa.

I just saw phillipines is ok too ...
That makes 2 already.

So on the one side I have now :

4500 bath more ticket price, 1200 for visa

leaving fast maybe means paying 1900+1000 to get the visa. Airline ticket. I just saw about 1800 bath for a ticket to Malaysia.  Phillipines, Cebu, was more than 5000.
Think i will wait and get the one entry. Less trouble ...  cost is not so high any more. I woulmd just 'lose' about 1000 bath maybe, but have an untroubled mind.

You are wise to always have a "Plan B" - but it is highly unlikely that a routine visa-extension of 30-days would not be granted.   Getting on board your flight here without the exit-ticket in 30-days is your most likely problem, followed by some worry at the Immigration checkpoint in Thailand (depending if you have entered visa-exempt several times in prior years).

A tourist-visa solves all those potential pitfalls.   Just be sure to have 20K Baht worth of cash or travelers checks on your person upon entry.
