Chief of police: Have money, ooops, no not have money.

In this case: Not have CCTV, ooops, have CCTV

In few days: CCTV can't show

He ran into the wood, we shoot him, oops no he resisted, opps no he had knife, oops and grenade too, oops and pills, oops he is famous drug dealer.

He has big bank account, oops we haven't checked yet

The shoot at his arm was fatal...

Should have shoot him several times, better...

As sensible as one can be...

A hand grenade is about the size of a tennis ball and weighs about 400 gramms. To use it requires using both hands in front of your body ( chest) to pull out the pin. Using your teeth to pull the pin John Wayne style will result in your teeth coming out!

This lad then managed to retrieve a grenade from his pocket and prepare to throw it whilst holding a knife and running away from the soldier.

That would be one very interesting piece of CCTV footage.

If he had managed to pull the pin, and was then shot, he would have dropped the grenade as he fell, and blown himself to pieces.

I'm not entirely sure we are hearing the truth here...

Good points and any competent journalist would be raising them at the earliest opportunity.

Army authorities want Thai civilians to believe a teenaged boy approaches a fortified military checkpoiint where, surrounded by armed soldiers, he decides to pull a knife, hand grenade and other weapons from hiding under his clothes. Apparently he's a drug smuggler who doesn't want to draw attention to his various criminal activities.  As a result of his alleged drugs and threats from his weapons collection soldiers grab the boy. One hands-on professional soldier who's up close enough to the boy  lets off a round to "wound" and subdue  him. Unfortunately the soldier's aim isn't good enough at arm's length and, instead, the boy dies as a result.

Predictably, the military officer in charge of the area defended the soldier's use of a military weapon while the teenager was under the control of a group of soldiers, as 'not excessive". I'd like him to explain how killing a teenager in such circumstances is not a little over the top at least.

The army has apparently decided actually killing the boy was not enough - now his past life and reputation are to be stomped on and trashed just as mercilessly. All without proper investigation and enquiry.
