Thailand awarded 'Best Country Brand for Value for Money"

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) revealed that Thailand have been rewarded to be the “Best Country Brand for Value for Money”.

Mr. Surapol Sawetserni (สุรพล เศวตเศรณี), deputy Governor of the TAT’s Public Relations Division, revealed that Country Brand Index Award 2006 (CBI) has awarded Thailand for the “Best Country Brand for Value for Money”. The survey has been conducted from 1,500 people who took the questionnaires via internet and telephone. The 1,500 people include foreigners aged between 21-65 and tourism experts from countries worldwide.

According to the statistics last year, about 11.52 million tourists worldwide traveled to Thailand, adding that the revenues generated by the tourists were set at 367,380.36 million baht or 3,890.13 baht per day per person.

This is the second time the Future Brand Public Company has held the Country Brand Index Award 2006 (CBI). Future Brand Public Company is a company that analyzes trend of tourism in each country. Nowadays, tourists love to travel in the countries that are 'different from others.'

Mr. Surapol said that this award will help attract more tourists to travel in Thailand.
