BANGKOK: -- Police in Bangkok have announced the arrest of a ganja dealer who was advertising on Facebook and sending the drugs to customers through the post.

He had hacked the Facebook account of an innocent woman.

He was found to be living in a recently purchased 17 million baht house in Ram Intra Soi 9. His operation had a turnover of 20 million baht and he was raking in 100,000 baht a month, reported Thai Rath.

Investigators also found out he owns seven other houses and condos throughout Bangkok.

Arrested yesterday in a joint police and military operation was 31 year old Kanchai Riksaensuk. At his 17 million baht house investigators found 27.5 kilos of compressed ganja and ten bankbooks in the name of a female called Sakao Yanphrai, 30, who was also detained at the property.

Senior police chief Surachet Hakphan said that the arrest followed investigations after it was discovered that information about drugs prices was being displayed on the Facebook account of a woman living in North Samrong.

The woman's address was raided on Wednesday but she was found to be totally innocent. Her account had been hacked by Kanchai.

Investigators were able to follow the computer trail and it led to Kanchai's house in Ram Intra Soi 9 yesterday. He told police that he bought the ganja for 8,000 baht a block and made about 30% profit on it. He said he was making 100,000 baht a month from the business.

He made out that he was not a major dealer but police dismiss this and are expanding the inquiry after finding out that Kanchai owns seven other properties throughout the city.

Scum lock him up throw away the key.

Selling drugs, destroying lives, pure scum.

Lets hope he can not bribe himself out of this , but with lots of cash in  hands he could.

100k  a  month, huh he  could get  a real  job and easily double/ treble  that...........well at  least  thats  what the Wife  says

Judging by the value of the properties, you would have to imagine there was a lot more going on financially than revealed in this article.

Possibly the ones who are the victims of the crimes that are often and proven to be carried out by some of those that participate in Ganja, or any other drug for that matter, not saying all do by any means, however some people will go to any lengths to get the funds to be high!

Numbers don't add up. 100,000 a month is a reasonable income, but not enough to pay for a 17 million baht house.

Methinks he was making significantly more than what he stated.

This guy needs to come and do my finances if he's able to buy a 17m baht home on 100k a month.

so about 3 k per block

so around 30 blocks a month

1 per day

not very good customer base

How long would a block last?

100 k a month extra would pay the mortgage on a 17 m house

The title should have read "Arrested yesterday in a joint police and military operation"

Cranky old bugger aren't you

This is stupid. They want to take Ya-ba of the class 1 drugs list but still chase after people who smoke Ganja. The whole reason that the RTP do chase people for Ganja is the fact that it is so easy to grow here in Thailand and no TAX is paid on the sales. And "HooHaa" what are you talking about, you do not inject Ganja! You either smoke it or ingest it

If he was found to have over a quarter of a gram then he is looking at 15 years in the monkey house, as that seems to be the going rate :(

And why is it that you automatically presume weed-smokers 'cannot cope with life without stuff'?
Not more or less so than the ones who 'like a drink, glass of wine, a few beers' ...

As for 'illegal stuff' ... well, luckily not so much anymore in places where to be politician requires at least a few of your mentioned 'gray cells' ...
