But Thai law does not allow marriage to more than one woman at a time, and bigamy is a criminal offense here. Even in predominately Muslim countries where it is legal, polygamy is usually not the norm. Among other things, very expensive as those tend to be countries where wives usually do nto work and husband is expected to be the sole provider. You can go to Pattaya and ' have ' four 'ladies' in an afternoon and you don't need to marry any of them.....but of course if you do you will end up building them a house and another for their parents. Southern Thailand Mosques gives you a letter and it is not logged with any government as the Thai government make Buddhism the official language of Thailand. Its all very much tolerated. Most of the Thai Muslim's that marry up to 4 wife's are loaded with money so no conflict.
