For the first part, it is the same supply and demand curve as has existed for thousands of years. Women have it and men want it, and very often vice versa. The fact that some choose to sell it or pay for it only makes a difference if you are some hard core moralist.

For the second part, areas of the world that have legalized the activity, have extremely low instances of STDs and sexual assaults. Could there maybe, possibly, be some link ??
