Hello,

In order to apply for a thai driving license I want to get a residence certificate.

The lady at the immigration bureau close to my place told me I have to go to the Government Complex.

Is it really only possible to get it there or is there any other office. It would be a pretty far trip so I want to make sure.

Thank you

Ps.: Has any german got it at the embassy? It states on the homepage that the non immigrant visa cannot be issued in another country than Thailand (while I could only get it outside of Thailand).

Chaeng Wattana immigration is the only office where you can get a residence certificate. They will not issue them unless you are doing 90 day reports to them.

Thanks for your reply.

Is that a recent info from you or someone of the forum?

Cause I was at that office and was told to go to the other one.

Chaeng Wattana immigration is located in the government complex. Map: http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/location1.html

Perhaps you went to the one stop center at the Chamchuri Square Building.
