Miss spelling

When you get into Thailand, at an airport or a land border, you put the address of your friend's rented condo on the arrival card. No proof is needed for this address.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

It depends upon which immigration office you would be reporting to. Unless you will need to do something at immigration there would be no need to do the a report.

Last time through immigration last month I only completed location as my home town on the arrival card. The immigration officer asked for full address. Fair enough I suppose. I added it to the arrival card and was on my way. Ive never been asked for hotel reservation so you should be OK!

It depends on the immigration office and what they want to see.

Here in Bangkok they asked me to show a signed contract for my residence (rental apartment) for which I have a 3 month rental contract for which I pay monthly.

Most police stations will not accept the report. Unless you have to do something at immigration a report will not be needed and even then that depends upon the immigration office you go to.
