BANGKOK: -- Bangkok's Chanasongkhram Police Station, whose jurisdiction covers popular tourist area Khao San Road, has issued an announcement promoting “polite and safe” Songkran water play.

The promoted period covers April 13-14 from 2pm to 8pm on Khao San Road and nearby Rambutri Road.

The police precinct has prohibited water play on Rajadamnoen Klang Road and said anyone who sets up a shop on the road’s surface or its footpath will be fined Bt5,000.
