He was, as are they all, ingrained in the corruption here but he is still the most popular leader this country has had and most Thais I know reminisce over those days whilst recognizing he was no angel.  A time of boom and investment and happy (ish) Thais and now...?  protesting nurses, threats to Facebook and buying submarines whilst shutting down street vendors and ignoring khun Red Bull.
