Unknown Thai Record

Hi there,

I work in a second-hand record shop in Scotland, and this unusual single - possibly from the 60s or early 70s - has come our way. There's some fantastic music on it, and judging by the script on the label, it's of Thai origin - however, my limited knowledge of the language means I can't decipher any of the information on it. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me more about it - especially the name of the artist and the songs, but the more information I can get, the better. Wow - thanks so much for such a speedy reply! It's great to finally shed some light on this wee mystery. Has anyone here heard of this singer? I can't find any info on internet searches, but that might not necessarily mean anything, as I think it's probably quite obscure. Also, is there any sign of what year it was published on the label?

as i've found out in net .. his dad is older than me 43 yrs

His dad passed away 8 years ago.He was a popular singer in past

The pic on the record sleeve from that website is dated 2538 - 11 years ago. He's a Luk Thung singer (Thai country music).

Jamie, do you know about Thai country music, mor lam and kandreum?

If not, look up the music of Pumpuang Duangjan, Sunaree Ratchasima, Pongsak Songsaen, Gintala Punlap, Chalermpon Malakham, Siripon Amphaipong. There's some great stuff to be heard.

I'd like to thank you all again for all the info on the record. It's a really wonderful sounding kind of music, and I'd definitely be interested in checking out a few more luk thung artists - starting with the ones bannork mentioned.
