Changing from Tourist visa to Non-o(Marriage)

Dear Expats,

 

Getting prepare for required documents to fulfill for NON-O Visa based on Marriage from 60 Days Tourist Visa.

I've some following points to short out with Expats Under New Immigration rules are:

1.  can i apply in Phuket immigration rather than Bangkok ?(But i live in Bangkok)
2. its been only 15 days since i had left 400K in my bank. 
3. do they need Work permit or Just only Marriage certificate, document C2 , Passport with TM6 and Tourist visa still remain more than 21 days.

thanks for the information 

in this case can they extend tourist visa for few weeks and wait for 2 months with 400K in bank possible ?

1. You need to apply in the area you live in. You could only apply in Phuket using a Phuket adddress.
2. 15 days is fine. The 400K doesn't need to be in the account for any number of days before you apply for the Non-'O' visa.
3. No work permit needed. You are applying to change your tourist visa/entry to a non-immigrant visa/entry so that you qualify to apply for an extension of stay. If based on marriage you will need your marriage certificate.

Ignore that answer as it's wrong.

 

You only need 400K in your bank for 2 months before the date you apply for an extension of stay. Before you can apply for the extension you need to apply for a non-immigrant visa and 15 days is no problem.

He cannot do a change of visa status in Phuket. They cannot accept the application for one for any reason. He would have to do it in Bangkok and it requires two trips 15 days apart and his wife would need to be with him for the first trip.

Best he goes to Penang to apply for a singe entry non-o visa. Just show the bank book. Marriage certificate plus a copy, signed copies of his wife's house book registry and ID card.
