Residency letter to buy a car

Featured Replies

Hello,

What do I need to get a residency letter to buy a car in Bangkok ?

Thanks

If you are doing 90 day reports to Chaeng Wattana immigration you can get a certificate of residency there. It takes about 3 weeks to get by EMS after you apply and pay a 200 baht fee.

Otherwise your only option is to get one from your embassy.

My embassy refuse to do this kind of papers as they say that the immigration can do it. But the immigration wont do it without the 90 days report, I just entered the country and I need to buy a car.

which embassy?

France

I suggest that you explain to the consular section of your embassy politely that your local immigration office refuses to give you the necessary residence certificate unless you have stayed in the Kingdom of Thailand (make sure to use the correct expression "royaume de Thaïlande") longer than 90 days but that you need the certification of residence already now.

And with "politely", I also mean that you should end your message with "Je vous prie, Messieurs, d'accepter l'expression de mes sentiments les plus distinguées". French diplomats go for that.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
