Student Visa/Non-Immigrant Education Visa Question

Featured Replies

Good day!

I currently have a Non-Immigrant Education Visa for the Thai language study I am doing. I recently received news of my acceptance to do my MBA in one of the universities in Bangkok. As I am already here in Thailand doing my language study, is it possible for me to get a new Non-Immigrant Education Visa here for my MBA without going back to my own country? I heard it was possible for a 60 day Tourist Visa to be changed into Non-Immigrant Education Visa as long as you have 30 days left for processing without leaving the country. I wondered if I could do the same. It would save me a lot of time and money if I could just do the process here in Thailand.

Thanks in advance for the insight.

All the best!

The only way you could get a new non-ed visa would be to leave the country to get a new visa or a visa exempt or tourist visa entry.

If you already have a non-ed visa entry you should be able to apply for an extension of stay with supporting documents from the University.

Unless you are still on the original 90 day entry from a non-ed visa you are likely already on an extension of stay (it is not a visa) issued by immigration.
