I have to blame the phone manufacturers. They want batteries thinner, lighter and more powerful. It appears that safety has been compromised. Lithium batteries have been used for many years with no problems. The problems only started when they made the phones thinner and lighter.

Wanna real scare?  Go to YouTube and search for exploding batteries.  Hundreds of scary examples.

Want good information?  Search YouTube for "search for the super battery".  Excellent documentary.  I'd post a link, but I can't access YouTube from where I am today...

And aircraft manufacturers. Boeing seem to use the same supplier of exploding batteries as Samsung do.

but Boeing is more likely to calculate and test power loading a lot more carefully. samsung seems comfortable in letting the general public beta test their phones.

Very bad quality Charlie ..... and I see BS adds on TV how Samsung takes quality so serious bla ... bla  ...  bla ...

thanks for sharing ... I'll let my thai friends know ....
you should have someone warn others on facebook and the likes ....

Samsung only take quality seriously on the S series phones. The J phones are cheap disposables.
